WHAT WE BELIEVE

NorthStar Basketball Academy seeks to provide great competition and variety to make training for the next level fun and challenging.

NorthStar Basketball Academy (N★BA) offers basketball training sessions throughout the spring. The N★BA is designed to provide excellent position specific basketball skills and strength training for middle and high school aged players.

N★BA’s positive, energetic and enthusiastic staff helps create an atmosphere in which athletes can develop basketball skills and self-confidence. The staff prides itself on teaching through encouragement, skill correction, and positive reinforcement. The members of the N★BA staff have extensive coaching and playing experience.

The N★BA is set up to challenge advanced players and will teach skills appropriate for the high school player. Fundamentals, intensity and competition will be high priorities as well as reinforcing our core tenants of character, commitment, conviction, confidence and competitive greatness.

Training sessions to be held on Mondays and Fridays in April and May

OUR COACHES

KEVIN McBEATH Kevin was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta before moving to Lethbridge to attend the UofL. He was fortunate to play two years of post-secondary basketball with the Pronghorns during their run to the USport National semi-finals in 2000. For the past 14 seasons Kevin has coached the varsity boys’ basketball team at Winston Churchill High School where they have earned berths to Provincials five times. Kevin has also lead Travel Teams to the United Kingdom (’04), Nova Scotia (’10), California (’14), and Cuba (’18). He has spent 14 summers coaching at Northwest Basketball Camps and coached the Zone 1 Alberta Summer Games team in 2012. Committed to fundamentals and reps on reps, Kevin believes that well done is better than well said.
